Well, it seems the system didn't work as intended. While we did recieve waivers from several teams, it appears that most did recieve the waiver, and are looking for it. Have no fear. I am attaching the ghost waiver now. Please do you best to get it emailed back to us. Primarily it is for the Homerun Derby and the Skills challenge. No team will be held up from playing over the waiver. i do need it on file though. The lawyers get nuts when we do this wrong.

If you haven't emailed them, uploaded them to exposure, dropped them in the mail, or sent them via carrier pigeon, stop by the Sandlot and make sure Saxton has them. I don't want any team being stopped from playing over the paperwork. Do not take them to the fields. Central for this tournament over the weekend is Sandlot Sports Zone!

We are very lucky to have concessions at both parks this weekend. At Bennett Park for the 8U and 9U you will find a full concession stand, with tons to offer. That will be operated all weekend by Owosso Youth Softball with all proceeds going to help their program. Please check them out, and know that every dollar spent there helps another ball player directly in this area!

At Mitchell Park, they also will be running a concessions stand with a much simpler menu. All proceeds from their concessions will go to supporting Corunna Youth baseball and softball. They will have Hershey's Ice Cream products when the action on the field heats up and your looking for a little relief. In addition to the concessions at Mitchell, there will be 2 food trucks this weekend. Notch'yo Pizza and Hallboy BBQ will be on sight. I have personally at from both trucks, so believe me when I tell you, there will be no disappointements!

Whatever you decide to do, please have a tremendous time, help us keep the park clean by picking up after your crew, and above all enjoy the time spent this weekend watching your players giving their all!

Homerun Derby and the Skills challenge will be taking place at Sandlot Sports Zone indoors on the turf Saturday from 10:00am until 7pm, and again on Sunday from 10am until 12pm. Each challenge is just $5, and all players are eligable to participate as many times as they want. We will also have all your preordered shirt orders at the Sandlot for pickup. If it isn't picked up Friday or Saturday, we will track you down on Sunday and force you to take it!!! Finally, while your at the Sandlot, check out our new Ice Cream space, The Sandlot Cold Zone!!! We have prepackaged treats currently while we are working to get the space completely functional, and believe we have something for everyone to enjoy. Attached is a quick quide to find us. Good Afternoon! 1st and foremost we are not experiencing an umpire shortage, all games are 100% a go, and we couldn't be more excited to see all your teams this weekend playing there butts off and giving their all. Regardless of what you may read on many of the travel baseball forums, we have never been in danger of not being able to fully cover this tournament with umpires. So what happened? Well, I contracted a local umpire assigner and worked out the deal months ago. He had all the information, and seemed to have a handle on it. Yesterday, just 2 days before you are all scheduled to arrive, he stopped into the Sandlot and made a push for more money per game and less umpires. Told me that he was having a hard time convincing umps to work a holiday weekend, and that the deal we had worked out made it hard to get his guys interested. I felt manipulated, and backed into a corner a bit with such a short time to pull it together. We reluctantly agreed, seeing no other choice. In the moment, it just felt kind of dirty, and I decided that if I could find another way, I would. A few phone calls, and a couple hours later, I had a assigner with deep connections across the state call me and tell me he had my tournament covered. Not only that, but with MHSAA certified umps, and that a complete list of names and phone numbers would be sent my way immediately. I jumped on it. I immediately contacted to other assignor and let him know that I no longer required his services. To be clear, this was not about the money. In fact, because of the short notice and the way I felt forced to do this, I will be paying more for umpires than before. This was about manipulation, and taking advantage of a situation with timing and the belief that I would play along. Why share all of this? These tournaments are hard to pull off. I've been involved with this tournament for over a decade. I do not want someone that is upset that they got called out for something, ruining the great experience we are all working so hard to provide for your teams, and families. When you all arrive this weekend, please thank an umpire. Kiss a grounds crew guy. (just kidding) Just enjoy your time, your games, and your kids. And please never doubt that the Sandlot has anything but the best interest in running a great tournament that you will talk about for years to come. See you all on the fields! Sid Fullwood

Happy Mothers Day. We have had a few reaching out about the rules. I have uploaded the rules to exposure for you all to download, print, or otherwise get access to ahead of the tournament. We have had many teams successfully load their rosters into exposure. We have several who have not. Rules dictate that I have a complete roster on file before the tournament begins. I encourage all to do that his week so we can eliminate any issues before we get into game play. I can't wait to see all of your teams competing very soon! Tournament Scheudle will be out soon.

This only lasts for a couple of days otherwise we wont have enough time to get everyones custom orders in!
