The Coop-With the rain that has fallen over the last hour, combined with what fell at the park yesterday, unfortunately, Sunday's bracket play has been cancelled.
Lanier Point-We are currently on as scheduled and we'll do all we can to get some games in, but more rain is in the forecast over the next several hours.

As it is stated in our rules, it is the sole responsibility of every team’s head coach to understand all rules and guidelines in terms of Southern Sports events.
Southern Sports’ severe weather and lightning policy is something that all coaches and families need to be familiar with as we begin our spring season. If the event is stopped due to lightning/severe weather, everyone must do the following:
- All spectators, coaches, players and parents MUST seek shelter immediately until the lightning threat has ended. SSP will notify everyone via website or phone app.
- No one is allowed on the fields, in the dugouts, or in the batting cages during a lightning delay.
- When seeking shelter, everyone MUST leave the common areas of the park and enter a safe shelter. Essentially, this means for everyone to go get in their vehicles and remain inside until the threat has cleared.

SEVERE WEATHER GUIDELINES

EVENT RULES
The head coach of every team is 100% responsible for knowing our rules/guidelines, and managing their team according to the rules that are posted on our website as well as our phone app. This includes the behavior of their coaches, players and fans.
**RULE CHANGE: The "C-Flap rule" is no longer a rule at Southern Sports.
LANIER POINT/THE COOP – INDIVIDUAL GATE FEE
We will collect gate fees as spectators enter the facility:
ADULTS: $10 each per day
SENIORS 65+/KIDS 10+ yrs: $7.00 each per day
UNDER 10yrs: FREE
** Poor behavior towards our gate workers (most of whom are students) will not be tolerated**
BLUE UMPIRE CARDS
During every game, umpires will keep a "blue card" that details your score and innings pitched. At the conclusion of the game, you will sign the card making it OFFICIAL. PLEASE make sure that this card has correct information (scores/pitching records) on it BEFORE signing it. Changes are not made after these cards are submitted to the onsite director and posted, unless it is a data entry error when posting the information. Please add players that you would like to nominate for the All-Tournament team.
ROSTERS
Online rosters ARE required to be in our system prior to games beginning on Saturday. See "local" rules for more details.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
After this week's event, the SSP All-Tournament Team from the tournament will be announced mid-week. Coaches, Umpires, and On-site Directors will have the opportunity to nominate any player on any of the teams in the event. The deadline to submit names will be Monday at 6pm.
COACHES AND PARENTS - DOWNLOAD OUR PHONE APP -
BEST in travel baseball….download it at SOUTHERNSPORTSPROMOTIONS. All coaches, and parents who download the app for your team and sign up for alerts, will receive weather related updates as well as all scores, scheduling and bracket information. THIS WILL BE THE MAIN METHOD OF COMMUNICATION DURING THE EVENT.
BEHAVIOR AND CONDUCT
Southern Sports Promotions, and all our facility partners, have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy on behavior of players, parents, and coaches. This includes, but is not limited to, - possession of alcohol on park property - use of foul language - any type harassment towards players, parents, coaches, umpires, tournament officials, park staff or others – and any interference with games.
Any individual who conducts themselves in an unsportsmanlike manner is subject to removal from the tournament, and from the park property, without further explanation. All head coaches are responsible for the behavior of their team. If it is deemed necessary, the head coach can be ejected from the game due to behavior of his/her players, parents, coaches, or team spectators. In extreme situations, teams can also forfeit games due to the behavior of their coaches, players, parents or team spectators.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER AND RECEIVE BANANA BASH T-SHIRTS IS FEBRUARY 15th. No jerseys can be ordered from our supplier after this date.

WE ALWAYS OFFER SINGLE A, A/AA & AA/AAA DIVISIONS.
WE OFFER “SINGLE A” DIVISIONS IN ALL OF OUR EVENTS AND WILL CONTINUALLY REVIEW ALL TEAMS TO CREATE THE MOST EVENLY COMPETITIVE EVENT FOR ALL TEAMS/DIVISIONS.
TEAMS WILL CHOOSE DIVISION (at registration)
During registration, each team will select: Classification (Single A, AA, or AAA)
AND division (Single A, A/AA OR AA/AAA) they are requesting to compete in for the event. MAJOR teams MUST play one age group above their own or play in a designated MAJOR division. Southern Sports reserves the right to change a team's division based on prior results and/or vetting of the team.
THIS EVENT IS A 3-GAME GUARANTEE FORMAT - TWO SATURDAY POOL PLAY GAMES WITH A SINGLE ELIMINATION BRACKET ON SUNDAY. WITH ENOUGH TEAMS, WE WILL SPLIT FURTHER INTO GOLD, SILVER, AND/OR BRONZE BRACKETS.
MULTIPLE NEW RING DESIGNS IN 2026 FOR 1st AND 2nd PLACE TEAMS.
TO GUARANTEE YOUR SPOT IN THIS EVENT
- All teams must pay in full to secure their team’s spot in this event.
- Teams will have 5 days to make the entry fee payment.
- If it is within 7 days of the event, payment is due immediately.
TEAM or INDIVIDUAL GATE FEE
Determined by which park a team plays at for this event. Teams will pay one of the two options below:
A) TEAM GATE FEE - $180.00 per team.
B) INDIVIDUAL GATE FEE (per day) - $10.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors (65+yrs), $7.00 per child (10yrs and older), 9yrs and under is FREE.
SCHEDULING REQUESTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AND CONSIDERED
Scheduling requests must be sent to sspscheduling@gmail.com prior to Monday at 8pm. Although communications may happen with tournament organizers via text, email or phone conversation, the request must be submitted to this email address.
IF THIS EVENT IS COMPLETELY CANCELED, TEAMS WILL RECEIVE A 50% CREDIT FOR A NEW FUTURE REGISTRATION. IF TEAMS PLAY ONLY 1 GAME, TEAMS WILL RECEIVE A $100 CREDIT FOR A FUTURE TOURNAMENT. IF ANY REFUNDS ARE PROCESSED, AN ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE FEE OF $100.00 WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE CREDIT REFERENCED ABOVE.
AFTER FEBRUARY 15th, THERE ARE NO CANCELLATION REFUNDS ON ENTRY FEES, DUE TO THE COST OF THE EVENT, INCLUDING ORDERED JERSEYS.
