Southern Sports "A/AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP" North Georgia Renegades
Messages
All games will resume at the Coop by 2pm, as long as the weather cooperates, players may take the field at 1:50pm to get warmed-up.
We will update everyone as needed.
As of 1:15pm, we are currently in a lightning delay. We will upate everyone as needed.
This means that everyone needs to follow our severe weather policy....
As it is stated in our rules, it is the sole responsibility of every team’s head coach to understand all rules and guidelines in terms of Southern Sports events.
Southern Sports’ severe weather and lightning policy is something that all coaches and families need to be familiar with as we begin our spring season. If the event is stopped due to lightning/severe weather, everyone must do the following:
- All spectators, coaches, players and parents MUST seek shelter immediately until the lightning threat has ended. SSP will notify everyone via website or phone app.
- No one is allowed on the fields, in the dugouts, or in the batting cages during a lightning delay.
- When seeking shelter, everyone MUST leave the common areas of the park and enter a safe shelter. Essentially, this means for everyone to go get in their vehicles and remain inside until the threat has cleared.
We have a potential for rain/thunder this weekend. For that reason, we ask that you urge your families to download our phone app. so that they can get updates as they happen through the weekend.
They can go to the app store and download SOUTHERNSPORTSPORMOTIONS, and then sign up for alerts within the app.
In addition to weather/scheduling updates, the phone app is a great tool for them to keep up with the event.
If we experience bad weather during the event, please make sure your families understand the policies and procedures when it come to lighting and severe weather.....
