PCYBL Fall Baseball League Rules:
**Please go over game rules with the opposing coach and
umpires before each game. The Fall League is
Developmental, please go over these rules and any game
variations/decisions before the game. Since there is a mix of
teams, decide ahead of time on stealing, leading off (for
9/10u) and anything else you want to discuss. Let's keep the
atmosphere relaxed and in a learning mode. Fields will be
prepped once a day before all games are played, that will be
it. We try to schedule games for teams of the same age on
the same fields to avoid having to make changes, but
sometimes we may need to change the base/pitching rubber
distance.
General Rules for Fall Games:
Play normal spring rules (WCP): with a couple exceptions.
1) TWO New Game Balls are provided. Teams need to help
with retrieving foul balls, home runs. If you need more
baseballs, dig in your bucket please.
2) Home team will be determined by a coin flip at home plate
prior to game start
3) Pitchers. We will follow the WCP pitching rules.
4) Youth:No more than 5 runs allowed by a team in any
inning. Once you reach 5 runs, roll it over. High School ages
will play normal High School rules.
5) NO RUN RULES, so we play the full time allotted. There are
no mercy rules in Fall, use your discretion and if your team is
clearly overmatching the other team, work on other plays,
don’t pitch your best pitcher, etc...
6) Be responsible adults, you can keep score, however we
don't keep standings or records.
7) Go over ground rules before the games and come to an
understanding about how you want the game to be played
(stealing, leading off for 10u and under teams). Talk it out
with the opposing coach and the umpires. Come to an
agreement on rules. Some teams are moving into new rules
and trying to teach the game with added skills such as
stealing, leading off.
8) Teams MUST bat their entire lineups, free defensive
substitutions: No Exceptions –No penalty if a player is hurt
or cannot finish the game, simply skip that batter in the
line-up; High School division may bat 9, 10, or entire lineup.
9) No Mid-inning pitching changes. *Exception would be for
injury. Let’s try and keep the games moving. If a pitcher is
close on pitch count, do not put them back on the mound
please.
10) Bat restrictions, 9u-14u players may use the following
legal stamped bats USA, USSSA, BBCOR, or Wood Bats
during Fall Play. High School divisions will swing BBCOR or
Wood Bats.
11) NO Metal Cleats on portable mounds. No Metal cleats on
Turf fields. No warnings. Player will be ejected.
12) No on-field pre game warm-up, if not the first game of the
day on a field. Please find a spot off to the side if waiting for
your game to start, let’s stay on time!
13) NO Protests
14) No on the field post game chats or meetings, When you
are finished for the day, pack up and move out. Find a spot
off to the side if you need to talk. Please dispose or pack out
all garbage.
15) Umpires-We are using Fall to develop younger umpires,
we need more umpires. The pool of umpires is shrinking. We
need to develop umpires so we can continue to offer leagues
and tournaments in the future. Please understand that we are
using fall to develop umpires. They will make mistakes.
16) Keep it light. Have Fun! Develop Better Ball Players!!
17) NO dogs allowed except papered service animals.
18) Turf fields- We are very grateful to have access to some
great facilities. These facilities are not ours, we are guests.
We need to follow the rules. We will not give any warnings
and will simply ask the offending person to leave. Everyone
should know by now the Turf Field Rules.
NO Metal Cleats
NO Seeds (includes fans in the stands)
NO chewing gum
NO sugary drink on the field.
