Southern Sports "COASTAL WORLD SERIES" Buckhead Bombers

Coaches,
A few things to mention...

-If your division ends up with an odd number of teams, we'll need 1 team to play an extra pool play game. The first team to respond gets the extra game.
It won't count for your team, but it will count for the team you are playing. We've seen coaches give players a chance to play positions they don't normally play and pitch players who haven't gotten as many opportunities to pitch.

A couple of preliminary items:

RELEASE OF SCHEDULE
We anticipate releasing the schedule on June 19th. It was be posted on our phone app and website. Please have your families download the phone app in order to have access to all of the event information (phone app = southernsportspromotions)

SKILLS CONTEST
The skills contest is schedule for Thursday evening, and pin trading will happen during the skills competition. Below is a summary of the events for the skills contest:

1) Fastest Man - 1 player per team will participate. The player is timed running from home plate around all bases concluding when thay cross the plate. The fastest time in each group will be the champion.

2) Around the Horn - this event will be a timed throw from home plate to 3B to 2B to 1B back to home plate (and repeated for a second time in the same session). Teams can have multiple players in order to maximize the number of players involved. The fastest time in each age group will be the champion.

3) Fastest Bat - 1 player per team will participate. (Max Velo off the tee will be measured from 3 swings off the tee). Fastest Velo in each age group will be the champion.

We will request a list of your team's participants next week.

Welcome to everyone playing in the Southern Sports Coastal World Series event on the Georgia coast. We look forward to hosting your team for the big event!

A few things to run thru:
-Entry fee
If you haven't submitted payment for the tournament. Please go on and do so.

Several age divisions are nearly full, so we need to get payments to secure your spot. And if your plans have changed, and you don't plan to attend, please let us know.

-Pin trading
We do encourage teams to trade pins. The players have always seemed to enjoy it. We normally suggest teams bring about 15-20 pins per player, so they'll have 1 for each team participating.

-Skills Competition
Is currently planned for Thursday night. In the past, we have hosted biggest bat (fastest velo off bat), fastest man (run around the bases) and team around the horn.
