All,
The Carson Styron Memorial begins Thursday. Check out our social media channels for a video tribute to Carson
All teams were just sent a roster link. This is only, if needed. All players participating must appear on your teams roster. So if you have had to pick anyone up, please ensure that they are added.
Throughout the course of the weekend, umpires will be equipped with some very special coins in Carson's Memory. They have been instructed to look for participants who portray themselves on the field as Carson did through Leadership, Community and Determination. This is not, necessaritly the player who went 4-4, although it certainly could be. Congratulations in advance to the hundreds of players who may earn one of these memorable coins.
Championship teams will take home Carson Styron Rings this week as well

A few reminders...
Metal Spikes
- Metal spikes on ANY turf infield will be prohibited at all positions
Example: a field with a turf infield and grass outfield, metal spikes are not permitted at all for that game.
- Metal spikes on ANY turf mound
Example: a field with grass infield but a turf mound will allow metal spikes everywhere but the mound. New pitchers must change shoes before taking the mound.
Failure to follow spike rules will result in immediate ejection of player and coach for the remainder of that contest.
Alcohol
Anyone caught with alcohol at any location with be suspended for the weekend. A second alcohol infration will be immediate removal of the team.
Sportsmanship
Top Tier Sports is committed to ruling on all conflicts in a way that is both (1) fair to the teams involved and (2) good for the tournament as a whole. All conflicts will be discussed amongst our staff to determine the best course of action.
Protests
Protests can be made on rules interpretations and rosters only – judgment calls are not subject to protest
All protests must happen immediately prior to the next pitch being thrown. Once play resumes, the opportunity to protest is lost
To initiate a protest, coaches should calmly request time out and inform one of the umpires that you would like to file a protest. At that moment, the game will stop and a Top Tier Sports tournament director will be contacted to resolve the protest. $100 cash is required for all filed protests. The cash will be refunded if the protest is deemed successful. For all denied protests, the $100 is non-refundable
*There is no protest without the fee
*There is no protest after a game
*There is no protest with a phone call
*There is no protest with complaining
The recourse for teams to get corrective action is to follow the protest guidelines.
Ejection Policy
Players / Coach EjectionsAny player or coach ejection will result in a one-game suspension, to be served in the next tournament gameFor all player ejections, the player should remain in the dugout
For all coach ejections, the coach must leave the complex immediately and be out of sight from game officials. Failure to comply with this directive will result in forfeiture of the game
Fan / Parent Ejections
Any fan or parent ejections will result in removal from the complex. The fan or parent in question will not be permitted back into the complex for the remainder of the tournament
A second fan or parent ejection for the same team will result in the removal of ALL FANS for that given team. This fan restriction will remain in place for that team for the remainder of the current event

The schedule for the Carson Styron Memorial is LIVE.
Carson Trey Styron was born on July 14, 2002 to proud parents, Nate & Carley Styron. They would soon realize they brought into the world an adventurous, loving, loud, outgoing, caring, determined leader who would do anything to make people smile & laugh.
Carson started playing baseball with FME (Fife Milton Edgewood Little League) at the age of 5 and grew to love the sport. At age 10, he took it up a notch joining the select team Crimson Cubs. With hard work, at age 12 he became the lead catcher. He was one of the best, often being referred to as the "Feared Captain America". His love for baseball continued to grow by helping coach along side his dad, earning the title of Coach Carson on his little brother CJ's team. At age 13 he began umpiring as well for FME. Carson loved the game of baseball not only as an athlete, but also because of unity and all it means to be apart of a team. He was the first team member to lift others up.
Carson was not only a top-notch baseball player, but was a determined young man. Determined to be a good son, brother, family member, friend and citizen. He was a young man who loved everyone, treated all with kindness & respect and embraced life with open arms.
Carson was tragically taken from us on June 5, 2016 in an ATV accident. The outpour of support that comes from family & friends, the community and the baseball family has been truly inspiring. The Carson Trey Styron Foundation has been set up to keep the legacy of Carson alive for generations to come. While impacting communities, as we know Carson would have continued to do in his life.

Tournament Information
Tournament Rules
Metal Cleats & Sunflower Seeds - ZERO TOLERANCE
Absolutely NO metal cleats and NO sunflower seeds on any turf fields. Additionally, if you are on a dirt field that has a turf mound, NO metal cleats on the mound. Failure to follow these field restrictions will result in an automatic player & coach ejection. Thank you in advance for ensuring your players and families follow these guidelines.
Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs - ZERO TOLERANCE
Just a reminder, as we get into a very busy summer season that we rely strongly on our partnerships with school districts and municipalities for reserving fields for our leagues & tournaments. Top Tier Sports is committed to providing a positive and safe experience for all participants at our events. Alcohol has no place at a youth sporting event, and we will have zero tolerance if anyone is found to be consuming alcohol at any complex being used for a tournament. Failure to comply with these guidelines and/or comply with on-site tournament staff will result in the immediate removal from the complex, along with the consequences listed in the fan ejection policy on our website. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Any second infraction will be immediate removal of the team.
GameChanger & Score Reporting
All games should be scored using GameChanger - please be sure to use the game that will be loaded into your schedule by our tournament staff. It should clearly say "Top Tier Lee Johnson Firecracker" in the footer of the game on your GC app. We will pull all scores from GameChanger, so there is no need to report scores for the tournament separately.

Thanks everyone - looking forward to a great weekend of baseball!
