Greater Puget Sound, Washington

Messages

Hi everyone,
With the Top Tier Lee Johnson Firecracker tournament set to start on Thursday, we wanted to send a message to ensure that everyone has all the information they need going into the weekend. Please review the email below and let us know ASAP if you have any questions or concerns.

-----

Bat Rules
As a reminder, the Lee Johnson Firecracker is a WOOD BAT event for the 13U - 18U age groups. Baum bats ARE allowed. For the 12U & under age groups, we will follow our standard USSSA bat rules that you are likely familiar with.

Metal Cleats & Sunflower Seeds - ZERO TOLERANCE
Absolutely NO metal cleats and NO sunflower seeds on any turf fields. Additionally, if you are on a dirt field that has a turf mound, NO metal cleats on the mound. Failure to follow these field restrictions will result in an automatic player & coach ejection. Thank you in advance for ensuring your players and families follow these guidelines.

The turf fields this weekend include (but may not be limited to):
Auburn HS
Bannerwood Park
Heritage Rec Center - Field #5
Hogan Park
Island Crest Park - North Field
Juanita HS
Kent Memorial - turf mound
Lakewood HS
Meridian Park
Puyallup Rec Center
Sirius Sports Complex
South Mercer Playfields
Sprinker Rec Center - Fields #7 & #8

Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs - ZERO TOLERANCE
Just a reminder, as we get into a very busy holiday weekend that we rely strongly on our partnerships with school districts and municipalities for reserving fields for our leagues & tournaments. Top Tier Sports is committed to providing a positive and safe experience for all participants at our events. Alcohol has no place at a youth sporting event, and we will have zero tolerance if anyone is found to be consuming alcohol at any complex being used for a tournament. Failure to comply with these guidelines and/or comply with on-site tournament staff will result in the immediate removal from the complex, along with the consequences listed in the fan ejection policy on our website. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

GameChanger & Score Reporting
All games should be scored using GameChanger - please be sure to use the game that will be loaded into your schedule by our tournament staff. It should clearly say "Top Tier Lee Johnson Firecracker" in the footer of the game on your GC app. We will pull all scores from GameChanger, so there is no need to report scores for the tournament separately.

Thanks everyone - looking forward to a great weekend of baseball!

Hi everyone,
The schedule for the Top Tier Lee Johnson Firecracker has been released! The only exception is the 18U division - we have some movement of teams and need to make some revisions - we will have this schedule out hopefully tonight, but tomorrow morning at the latest.

We did our best to accommodate all schedule requests, and were also able to have all teams be done no later than 5:00 PM on Friday to allow all families to enjoy the evening of the 4th of July.

As a reminder, this is a WOOD BAT event for age groups 13U - 18U. More to come regarding rules and other specifics leading up to the tournament.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,
You are receiving this message as your team is registered for the upcoming Lee Johnson Firecracker tournament (July 3-6). We are starting to work on the scheduling for this event - please reply ASAP if your team is not planning on playing.

Our plan is to divide age groups into competitive divisions (whenever possible) - you will receive a note to check your division once this process is complete.

A few things to note about the 2025 Lee Johnson Firecracker tournament:

13U - 18U Divisions
- The Lee Johnson Firecracker is aWOOD BAT tournament from ages 13U - 18U
- This is a 4-day tournament spanning Thursday - Sunday
- With school being out, there will be late-morning and afternoon games on Thursday 7/3 & Friday 7/4
- We will not start any games on Friday, 7/4 after 3:00 PM to allow families to enjoy their 4th of July evening and night

9U - 12U Divisions
- For the 9U - 12U divisions, this is a metal bat tournament; normal Top Tier bat rules apply
- This will be a 2-day tournament spanning Saturday 7/5 - Sunday 7/6

More to come as we prepare for this great event - thank you for your support of Top Tier Sports!

Thanks!

Coaches,
The divisions have been split for the Lee Johnson Firecracker tournament. They were set based on requests as well as team performance throughout the year. If you have any concerns about the division you have been placed in, please let me know NO LATER THAN NOON ON MONDAY, 6/23. No division moves will be considered after that time.

NOTE: The three divisions are Gold (typically Majors), Silver (typically AAA), and Bronze (typically AA) - however, many divisions do not have specific "Majors" or "AAA" teams, so the goal was to balance things out competitively to provide the best experience for all players and teams.

Thanks!
